Remembering 26/11 - One year since...

Before reading this, I would request the readers to read this post first - Remembering 26/11

The tears have dried,

Those screams have died,

The memories of the nightmare are still very fresh,

And the security of our country is still in a mess,

The promises have been nothing but lies,

To add salt to injury to the already wounded lives,

The sacrifice of our brave men has gone in vain,

And the politicians are still concerned about their private gains,

The number of dossiers has increased to seven,

But those responsible are still at large in the neighbourhood haven,

We are a bunch of cowards let’s admit the fact,

For not even an attack like 26/11 has made us act,

By us I mean not just the Govt., its u and I to be blamed,

“Enough is enough” we screamed, for five minutes of fame?

To the terrorists, “If you try again, we won’t just raise our voice”

Coz as a wise man once said, “We are resilient by force, not by choice”

After the attacks, it has been one year since,

So let’s just light a candle and pray, requests the silent prince...

Dear Umesh, SO agree with you when you say that its not the government alone that is to be blamed. All share a part of that blame in some way or the other. I really wish that one year after 26/11 this one thing really changes -
"Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Into that heaven of freedom my Father let my country arise."

Very true indeed...each one of us is to blame...our easy going, forgetful attitude will do no good to India...Lets all try to change ourselves rather than tryin to change others...

I am touched by this gesture of yours...let all the innocent souls rest in peace who died out there last year.

Hope things change and what we are not ready to face again doesnt happen.

Cheers
Mahesh

i dunno y weneva i read any article on 26/11 my eyes turn moist.
its heart wrenchin.
evry time news channels flash a story i hear the helpless screams.
i see the faces of ppl terrorised fear etched on them.
i imagine wat it must be to be made stand in a line n been shot at.
i feel how it must feel to be dinin at a hotel n that is yr last meal ever...

i hav nothin else to say.

hmmm
may their souls rest in peace
we all are really lucky that those brave hearts were present for our rescue...
very heart touching gesture and a thanks giving as well as an eye opener to alll of us....
JAI HIND !!!!!!!

You have expressed very beautifully about the worst tragedy which took place on the same day last year in which hundreds of innocent people lost their lives. May their soul rest in peace. I hope this type of incident will never ever take place in our country. Lets pray to God for everybody's good health and prosperity.

@ pallavi: those were very beautiful lines!! :)

@ amit: very true...and when we begin the process of changing ourselves, we'l realize what a big task lies in front of us..

@ mahesh: thanks and I too really hope that things change pretty soon...

@ rimple: Not only those who died to save us, but may God bless all those who died with absolutely no fault of theirs...

@ divsi: you know we all feel the same...but its time we keep our emotions in check and do something ourselves..but again the question arises: what and how?

@ vaidhei: I sincerely hope that the post contributed in opening a few eyes...Jai Hind!

@ babli: thanks for those kind words...but given the state of our security system, I don't think that our Govt. is capable of stopping activities of these kinds, unfortunate but true...
