Damn that Feeling- A cricket special!

That Feeling…
When Dravid and Sehwag opened against Pakistan in a test match,
They share 410 runs for the opening stand,
And are just four runs short of scoring the highest ever opening partnership,
And Sehwag gets out, trying to play a cheeky shot (A shot he tried playing the ball before, but got beaten!)
Damn that Feeling!

That Feeling…
When Sehwag is on 293,
He needs just seven runs to become the first ever to hit three triple centuries,
And well, we all know what happened,
Damn that Feeling!

That Feeling…
When India are chasing a 350-odd target against Australia,
The God himself scores 175 runs and gets out with India requiring a run-a-ball 18runs with still three wickets in hand,
And his efforts go in vain, as India loses by three runs…
Damn that Feeling!
(For cricket illiterates, God = Sachin Tendulkar)

That Feeling…
When the God was playing on 194 against Pakistan,
With just six runs to score yet another double century,
And the captain- Rahul Dravid declares the innings…
Damn that Feeling!

That Feeling…
When it was the World Cup - the God’s dream,
India were unbeaten in the entire tournament except by Australia,
And India ran into Australia again in the Finals,
Chasing a mammoth 354 to win, India lose the God in the first over and goes on to lose the final…
Damn that Feeling!

P.S.: These were only a handful of “Damn that feeling” cricketing moments which I could remember…so if you can contribute more, please do so :)

In yesterday's match, India is on the verge of winning when Zaheer Khan mis-fields and sends the ball to the boundary. A minute later he again drops a catch. Result: India loses. Damn that feeling!

Nice account, Umesh. It does pain really when remembered, doesn't it? :(

since cricket ain't my thing, I'll keep my additions to myself lest I give some wrong stats and bring the wrath of cricket lovers upon my head :P

Hehe.. i am not much into cricket, so no 'damn that feeling' from me.

The only time i felt really bad was when India lost to Australia in 2003 world cup.

I liked the concept very much :)

Cheers
Mahesh

@ karthik: Well that match inspired me to write this post :)..however India could have lost that game anyways, so didn't include it here :)...and yes it does pain a lot when one looks back at those games...keep visiting :)

@ shaunak: Lol...good decision :)

@ vaidhei: Glad you liked it..although I doubt you would have understood anything, the post being related to cricket! :p

@ Rohit: Ya man, very true...but He was, is and will forever be the God of cricket! :)

@ Mahesh: I'm glad you liked the concept... I had written a post some time back on the same lines, but that was about general stuff...so I just carried it from over there :)

DAMN that feeling when sachin is on 165 playin in sum tiny NZ ground having plenty of overs to make the 1st ever 200 in ODIs and he gets cramps and gets retired hurt..damn! damn! damn!..felt really bad then..

I have always managed to be at a fairly good distance from cricket, so I have to keep shut here.
Nonetheless damn the feeling of not being able to achieve.

Also sorry for dropping in late this time.
My wishes for a fulfilling new year.
